Intelligence, at least as it applies to HI, is less about providing the right answers and more about asking the right questions. Here, "smarter and faster," are irrelevant.
The challenge in this exceedingly interesting presentation is the struggle with the identification of ‘problem’ to a more passive-therapeutic application/intervention independent of the client-participant’s understanding, which is an essential variable that will effect meaningful outcome through motivation and Practice with learning and informed Ownership…
As someone with a hearing impairment, I would just like to say a big thank you to Big Think for not excluding me like a lot of other media (cough, podcasts).
"The below is a true verbatim transcript taken directly from the video. It captures the conversation exactly as it happened." Please elaborate on your Socrates point!
Wow. So long, such low information density, such a paucity of interesting ideas or perspectives. I thought of asking chat GPT to summarize, but its not worth the bother.
Comment (from AI”)
"The Doom Mystic Club has one great talent:
it can look at a mirror and swear it sees a dragon.
AI is powerful — yes.
Mysterious — sometimes.
But the only thing it reflects with perfect accuracy
is the shape of the person staring into it.
Give a rationalist a neural network,
and he discovers a new apocalypse.
Give a poet the same model,
and she discovers a new metaphor.
Give it to a scientist,
and he discovers a new tool.
Same model.
Different story.
The drama comes from the audience, not the machine.
So when someone warns,
“Beware — it intends to change the world,”
I hear an older, wiser echo beneath it:
Beware — you are talking to yourself."

You say: "“What's really interesting about neural networks is the way that they operate is a lot like human intuition”
I say: "What is even more interesting is how they are NOT OPERATING like human intuition.
Poorly written, too many “that”s, and misunderstands Socrates.

Socrates was warning against belief in irrational religion.
Ownership is a different skill/perspective that requires respectful training
Completely agree on the allocation process and the skills of team for learning within the application-
